Sober October: The Perfect Time to Experience the Buzz of Sober Living! 🌿

Welcome to Sober October! In this blog, I’m going to give you some hints, tips, and resources to help you live your best Sober October life!

Where’s Your Head At?

Are you feeling like Sober October is going to be a drag, or maybe you're afraid you're giving up something special? It’s easy to romanticise alcohol, but let’s get real for a second—what positives has it really brought into your life? Go on, take a moment and think about it.

Now, ask yourself why you’ve decided to take a break or stop. To get healthier? Sleep better? Save money? Avoid embarrassing situations? Maybe to stop blacking out? Every single one of those reasons is valid! Why not flip the script and see going alcohol-free as an exciting gift? A gift you get to open every single day.

Just Some of the Many Benefits of Sober October:

  • Peace of mind

  • Reduced anxiety

  • More time and energy

  • A sense of achievement

  • No more drunk texting that person (you know the one!)

  • Regaining control of your life

  • More cash for tattoos, new kicks, or whatever you fancy

  • Lower blood pressure

  • Weight loss

  • Being fully present with loved ones

  • Rediscovering your self-worth

  • The ultimate smug feeling of waking up fresh and hangover-free

  • Watching Netflix and actually remembering what happened!

Plan Your Month

Make a list of all the reasons why you’re taking on Sober October, and then list the benefits you’re looking forward to. Trust me, it’s motivating to see it all on paper!

Money Matters

Time to get brave—check out your past 3 months of bank statements. Add up all your alcohol-related spending (drinks, takeouts, Ubers home, etc.), then divide by 3 to get your average monthly spend. Now ask yourself, what could you treat yourself to with that cash by the end of Sober October? A weekend away, a new gadget, maybe even a spa day?

Your New Weekend Plans

Got any fun, hangover-free plans for the weekends? Instead of wasting your mornings as a hungover gremlin, why not fill them with things you’ve always wished you had the energy for? Maybe it’s an early hike, a swim, or just a guilt-free lie-in followed by a cosy breakfast in bed. What’s your ideal hangover-free weekend morning?

Grown-Up Drinks, No Hangover

Practice Gratitude

One of the most life-changing practices is gratitude. For Sober October, write down 5 things you’re grateful for every day. Make them specific to the day before, and include at least one thing you’re grateful to yourself for, and one thing you’re grateful for not drinking. Keep this up throughout October, and who knows—you might want to continue for life!

Bonus: SoberBuzz 30 Days "Aff It" Workbook

If you want even more support, why not order our 30 Days “Aff It” Workbook? It’s packed with self-love practices, goal setting, self-care tips, and practical advice to help you make long-term positive changes. This isn’t just for Sober October—it’s a toolkit for life!
